Old postcard - Blackpool, looking north

Blackpool from another vantage point and in rather different weather than the last post. Splashing waves are a postcard theme about 100 years ago. Maybe it was the camera skill needed to catch the spraying waves (not easy even now) that made them so popular. It's hard to imagine a scene like this acting as good marketing for a holiday resort, but the experience of nature, rather than a good tan, seemed to a large reason for visiting such places at that time.
